Lawsuit Alleges Fintech Company Intuit Had Shoddy Consumer Data Privacy Protection

World fintech firm Intuit was hit on Monday with a proposed class motion lawsuit alleging that it failed to guard prospects’ data from a knowledge breach.

The proposed class motion lawsuit was filed by Chicago-based agency Strauss Borrelli within the California Northern District Courtroom, San Jose Division, and contains greater than 100 class members. It accused Intuit of successfully inflicting a cyberattack that compromised its customers’ personally identifiable data by bypassing cybersecurity trade requirements, together with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, the Center for Internet Security’s Critical Security Controls, and the Federal Commerce Fee’s guidelines for finest knowledge safety practices. Plaintiffs are searching for restitution, damages and declaratory and injunctive reduction.
